Back To School – Spiffed Up Notebook & Calendar Repurpose

It’s back to school time boys and girls! Rather than splurge on those fancy Hello Kitty notebooks save some cash- make ‘em yourself!

Step 1:  Gather your materials. In my case these were a paper trimmer, old notebook, last years calendar, 3 hole punch, modge podge (I prefer matte but only had the glossy kind on hand), & a paintbrush.

Step 2: Measure the dimensions you want for your notebook cover. Mine was around 10 1/2″ by 7 1/2″.

Step 3: Pick out your image and trim it to size.

Step 4: Punch your holes. Don’t worry too much about a mistake or two.

Step 5: Paint a single layer of modge podge on your cover. Lay down your paper carefully, doing your best to make it even. Let dry. Air bubbles should smooth themselves out a bit when it dries.

Step 6: Embellish as needed (now is a good time to cover up any bad punch jobs) and let dry once more. If your cover starts to curl just lay it upside down with a heavy book on it for a bit and you’ll be golden.

That’s all it takes. Make all the other kiddies jealous and enjoy your “new” notebook! ^_^
