From Drab To Steamfab!
(Please note: It’s late right now so my finished pic doesn’t really do it justice. I’ll be taking a new pic tomorrow when there’s actual light.)
What do you do when you have a laundry list of chores and are super stressed, running on zero hours of sleep?
Remake your wall clock of course!
Allow me to introduce you to my new clock. I like to call her “eye candy.”
Now, some of you may be saying, “Hey, that’s pretty neat. I’d sure like to have some eye candy too.” It’s actually pretty simple to recreate. Just take the covering off the clock. Mine was screwed on but some come off by wedging a flathead screwdriver under ‘em.
GENTLY take off the clock hands. Keep everything in order and be careful, they’re usually easy to bend (which is a bad thing.)
Pull off the current paper clock face. If it won’t come off you can always paste over it. Keep in mind that the paper is mighty handy to use to stencil your next face though.
Decorate as desired. I used a stock clock image, tea stained it, gave it a brush of watered down golden brown paint, and smudged some ink back on for the details. The paper bits were me recycling an old card. The purple part is some sort of nifty ribbon I found in my stash. I also went over the outside with bronze and brown for good measure.
Then just put all the pieces back together and you’re good to go. One custom clock and it didn’t even cost me a penny. ^_^

Your clock looks amazing! Thanks so much for posting on Creative Friday:)

Clever! First time visiting your site and glad I did. Trying to hunt down a custom clock for hubby’s “man cave.” Sports paraphanalia costs an arm and a leg…I can just make one for free. Brilliant, thanks!
Good Afternoon
