Screw Black Friday: Gnome/Fairy Cups & Plates

I did Black Friday last year. It was fun but unfortunately I was dirt poor. Yeah, you read that right. I got up at the arse crack of predawn to freeze my bum off as moral support.

Well, not this year, no sir. There will be no Cyber Monday for me. No more shall I have to hit refresh over and over to snag a deal for towels that cost $2 less than usual. I refuse to huddle under a heat lamp losing feeling in my toes for a printer. That’s why I’m going handmade this time. And because I’m both lazy and slow I’ll be starting extra early… like, now.

Here’s the first official gift for next years Christmas: a gnome cup and plate set for Geekette. Check out the tutorial at Wee Folk Art to see how you can make it yourself! (Note: The silver piece is about the size of a quarter in case you’re wondering.)

This may come as a shock but I’m actually not a daytime slacker. I spend about 30 hours a week teaching Geekette and her 3-year-old friend, Little Man. We do daily field trips, homemade meals, crafts, storytimes- the whole nine yards. It is crazy hectic. Anyways, today the kiddos had their first experience with polymer clay. They helped make these cute hearts for part of our V-day parent presents. Consider this pic a WIP.
